Disabled, Determined, and Creating My Own Path

Hey, I’m Jenn—and if you’ve made it to this corner of the internet, welcome to the chaos and creativity that is 80HD Creations. I wanted to take a moment to share something a little personal with you, because behind every stitch, sketch, and sparkle is a story—and mine is a bit of a wild one.

I’m disabled. Chronic illness and mental health stuff are daily realities for me. Some days I can barely hold a pencil. Some days my hands shake too much to thread a needle. But every day, I still wake up with the urge to make something, even if it’s just a mess.

Starting an art-based business while being disabled felt like the ultimate “are you sure about this?” moment from the universe. I didn’t go into this expecting to be perfect or profitable overnight. I went into it because creating brings me joy. It gives me purpose. And it gives me a way to connect—with myself, with others, and with a world that often moves too fast for people like me.

It’s still new. I’m still figuring things out—from posting online, to selling my work, to fighting the imposter syndrome that whispers, “Why would anyone want to buy this?” But then I get a message saying my art made someone smile, or that a custom piece I made brought tears to someone’s eyes (the good kind), and suddenly, it all feels worth it.

This journey isn’t about hustle culture. It’s not about becoming the next big thing. It’s about doing what I can, when I can, and loving the process—even when it’s messy. Especially when it’s messy.

So if you’re also disabled, neurodivergent, or just feeling like you don’t have it all together… hi. You’re not alone. You can start something new. You can create a life that works for you. It might look different, slower, or totally unconventional—but that doesn’t make it any less valid or beautiful.

Thanks for being here and supporting not just my art, but the human behind it.

Stay weird, stay wild, and never apologize for being a little too much.
